At Timber Lake West we take the job of coaching and caring for children seriously. We're looking for top quality summer camp counselors and camp staff who will take this job as seriously as we do.

We're committed to being the best and, we know that to be the best, we need to attract the best summer camp staff. To do that, we pay the highest salaries in the camping profession.

A summer with us offers the opportunity to make life-long friends from across the nation and throughout the world. Last summer Timber Lake West warmly welcomed camp counselors from California to Maine, and international residents of: Canada, Great Britain, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the Dominican Republic.

Salary for university students completing their second year in school in the spring of 2008 is $3,000. At Timber Lake West, we have developed a very comprehensive evaluation and bonus program. Based on job performance, bunk counselors can earn up to an additional $500 in bonuses. A Travel Allowance is also available to all North American staff who have completed their Freshmen year in college, live in a bunk, and are traveling more than 350 miles, each way to camp. American staff are entitled to travel allowance up to $250 to help defer the cost of coming to camp. Canadian staff are entitled to a travel allowance up to $600 to help defer the cost of coming to camp and obtaining your visa and SEVIS. In total, a staff member completing their second year of university can earn up to $3,000 for a summer at camp.
