A Big Thank You To The Pre-Camp Crew And All That You Do!

Look who’s been hard at work since May 19th, getting camp ready! Each Spring about 8 of our summer staff join our capable maintenance team of Steve, Alan and George to put the finishing touches on Camp.

You might wonder what the Pre-Camp Crew actually does. They:

• WORK HARD, have fun and enjoy having the run of Camp.

• Mow lawns … ok so they are actually fields. This involves riding the tractor (the easy part of lawn care), pushing hand mowers and weed wacking (much more physically demanding than tractor riding, but equally rewarding).

• Painting and Staining … lots and lots of painting and staining! Here’s a little camp trivia; we only use three colors of paint in camp: Barn Red, Battle Ship Grey and White.

• Physical Labor … we do a lot of moving of bleachers, beds, picnic tables and cubbies, etc.

• Have some basic carpentry and plumbing skills, this includes, but is not limited to cleaning and plunging toilets and sinks!

• Perform housekeeping jobs, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and other skills your mother always told you would come in handy.

• Enhance their cooking skills, as meals during pre-camp are a group effort, until “Mitch Da Chef”, arrives in Camp.

Meet this year’s Pre-Camp Crew and see some photos of them in action!
