Fun Facts About Our Boy’s Side Leadership Team

Last week we introduced our female leadership team, now it’s time to learn all the fun facts about our boys’ side team!

Name: Brett Donatelli
Position at Camp: Boys Head Couselor
Born in: Larchmont New York
Grew up in: Larchmont NY/ Wilton CT
What I do when not working in Camp: Special Education Department and am a Math tutor in Darien CT

Favorite food/meal:  Anything Italian
Favorite Movie: Shawshank Redemption
Favorite toy as a child: Lego Pirate ship
Favorite toy now: Rollar Blades
Favorite thing about West: All of it
What are you most looking forward to this summer? Dress up BBQ is always my Favorite part of the week
Fun fact about myself: This will be my 22nd summer at TLW

Grew up in: Manhattan Beach, California
What I do when not working in Camp: Special Education Teacher

Favorite Movie: Remember the Titans
Favorite toy as a child: Soccer Ball
Favorite toy now: iPhone
Favorite thing about West: Camp has given me the opportunity to witness countless campers persevere through challenges and gain lasting friendships
What are you most looking forward to this summer?: Leaving the West Coast and getting the chance to meet new campers and reconnect with everyone at TLW
Fun fact about myself: I did not see snow until I was 21 years old and to this day, I am not a fan…..

Name: Adam “Caddy” Cadegan
Position at Camp: Lower Camp Boys Head Counselor
Born in: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada
Grew up in: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada
What I do when not working in Camp: Graduated this year from St. Francis Xavier University, with a Bachelor of Education.

Favorite food/meal: Italian/Pasta
Favorite Movie: D2: The Mighty Ducks
Favorite toy as a child: G.I. Joe’s
Favorite toy now: My iPhone
Favorite thing about West: GaGa
What are you most looking forward to this summer?: Meeting new people and seeing old friends
Fun fact about myself: I recently returned from Central America, completing a teaching placement in Belize.

Name: Matt “Pollard” Pollard
Position at Camp: Middle Camp Head Counselor
Born in: Red Lion, Pennsylvania
Grew up in: Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
What I do when not working in Camp: I work with juvenile delinquents at a youth detention center.

FUN FACTS:
Favorite food/meal: Sushi! I love spicy tuna rolls with fresh wasabi.
Favorite Movie: It’s a tie between the original version of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, produced by the British company Wonderworks and The Shawshank Redemption.
Favorite toy as a child: Probably my imagination; I looked in the back of my closet for Narnia quite a few times.
Favorite toy now: Still my imagination.
Favorite thing about West: The relationships I have developed with campers and friends throughout the years.
What are you most looking forward to this summer?:  Everything! TLW is a unique environment where every little interaction is meaningful. I can’t wait to see old friends, make new friends, and spend two months in the sunshine with people I love. If I had to name one thing, I would say I’m really looking forward to getting to play some basketball.
Fun fact about myself: I had a pet goat as a child name Billy.

Position at Camp: Upper Camp Boys Head Counselor
Born in: Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada
Grew up in: Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada
What I do when not working in Camp: Junior High French Teacher

FUN FACTS:
Favorite food/meal: Glace Bay pizza and shrimp
Favorite Movie: Remember the Titans/Mighty Ducks 1 & 2/Home Alone 1 & 2 amongst many others.
Favorite toy as a child: Probably my huge collection of WWF wrestling figures or my also huge collection of Ninja Turtle toys.
Favorite toy now: Simply a soccer ball now. Most likely because I cannot find my WWF wrestling figures or Ninja Turtle toys. If I could find them, they would probably jump back into the favorite toy slot very quickly.
Favorite thing about West: The unforgettable relationships that are formed in such a short time. As much as you can speak about the long lasting effects these people have on you, there are not enough words to describe it in it’s entirety. There is something special in the air at TLW, something that I can never give up.
What are you most looking forward to this summer?: I am most looking forward to seeing all of my boys jump off the buses (first and second session). That’s when you know it’s real and it’s time to have the summer of a lifetime! It’s such an unbelievable rush.
Fun fact about myself: I once kicked in the front door of a burning house, along with a complete stranger, because there was a lady trapped inside.
