After just one summer, I can't even begin to imagine life without Timber Lake West! Camp has become a requisite of my definition of happiness. It's remarkable to think that in just 2 months I fell in love with campers and staff members from all over the world. Home is with the ones I love, and Timber Lake West has truly extended the boundaries of my home. The only proper way to understand what camp life entails is to experience camp yourself!

If only the 2 months at Timber Lake West could last all year, then I would be the happiest girl in world! The atmosphere, the staff, and the campers keep me coming back year after year. It becomes a piece of you, one you can't fathom living without and you don't know how you ever did. You're never too old to go back to camp, and that's what makes TLW so special.

My only regret about working at TLW is that I didn't go sooner. Camp is a family of "lifers" that I strive to live up to. No words can truly express the feeling of belonging that exists at the end of Burnt Hill Road except that as the Camp Alma Mater says "lifetimes not too long, to live as friends.

Growing up, neither I nor anyone I knew had ever attended summer camp. I was beyond apprehensive of what my experience would be like. To my great surprise and delight, my summer at TLW was truly the best I've ever had. I made relationships with counselors and campers alike that I truly value and can never forget. Everyone interacts in a way that makes for an accepting and safe environment, and it'll likely turn out to be the only position I'll ever hold that I enjoyed so much, it feels less of a job and more of an incredible vacation.

It’s AMAZING how TLW can change your life forever in such a short period of time. When you go to camp for the first time, you have no idea what to expect, and by the end of the summer you can't imagine life without it! TLW becomes not only a home that you miss all year, but your “Happy Place” that is filled with amazing memories that pick you up when you are down and FRIENDS that become FAMILY who are always there for you. In everyone’s life there is a summer that changed it all, and for me it was my first summer at Timber Lake West: The Friends, The Family, The Fun!
