Outstanding Facilities
Bunks and Living
Campers live in modern, paneled cabins called bunks. Each bunk is equipped with full bathrooms and storage space for each camper's belongings. Two to three counselors and eight to ten campers make up each bunk. Campers are encouraged to make their beds, care for their own belongings and practice good personal hygiene. Our professional housekeeping staff maintains and sanitizes the bathrooms daily. A complete clothing list and Parents' Manual make the process of preparing for camp as easy and convenient as possible.

The cabin or bunk is where campers learn to live together as a group, to share and to respect each other. We see bunk living as the core of the camp experience –- central to our mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends.

Dining

Dining Hall

Camp spirit comes to life in our dining halls. Campers sit by bunk with their counselors and meals are served in a "modified buffet" style. Staple items like drinks and morning cold cereal are already on the table while the main items are picked up by campers at the buffet stations. This allows for plenty of choice so that even picky eaters will find something they like.

The menu is designed to provide nutritious meals that children will enjoy eating. Salad bars and fresh fruit are featured at every lunch and dinner and attention is paid to campers with special dietary needs.

Timber Lake West's commitment to the health and safety of every child is unsurpassed. At WEST, a child's emotional safety is as important as his or her physical safety. Our modern health center is staffed 24 hours a day by three registered nurses and a MD on our grounds.
